Now accepting applications for 2012 Northern Illinois Art Show

41st Annual Northern Illinois Art Show

Saturday: June 2, 2012 from 10am – 5pm
Sunday: June 3, 20122 from 10am – 4pm

This year, 2012, the Northern Illinois Art Show will be located once more on the grounds of the historic DeKalb County Courthouse lawn.

The juried 41st Annual Northern Illinois Art Show accepts original arts and crafts.   Any entries that are found to be manufactured or not original works will be rejected during the applicaiton process.  Also, any non-original work discovered during the show will be asked to leave.   There is an entry fee of $90 and $45 for KVAL members.   The deadline for applications will be March 15, 2012 or until the booth spaces are filled.   There are 65 booth spaces available.

Please enclose a photo of a sample of your original art or crafts and a photo of your booth space. The applicationand instructions can be found here


40th Annual Northern Illinois Art Show

Thank you to all who attended the 40th Annual Northern Illinois Art Show at the city lots on the corner of Somonauk and Elm Streets in downtown Sycamore, Illinois. Local, regional, and national artists showed their artwork in a range of different mediums such as jewelry, painting, drawing, sculpture, yard art, mosaic, glass, fabrics, etc. Also, KVAL had a booth showing member artwork.

Clay Figure Sculpture Demonstration

The meeting will feature clay sculptor, Phil Cuthbert, who will be demonstrating techniques, materials, and tools for sculpting polymer clay figures. Visitors and new members are welcome!

Encaustic Collage Painting Demonstration

Borders Fall Exhibit

The Kishwaukee Valley Art League had a group exhibit at Borders in DeKalb, IL from September 11 through October 9, 2010. A reception was held on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 6pm-8pm. A great turn out and a great showing. KVAL plans to have another show at Borders in the spring.
